Mediation Coordinator Position Description
The Mediation Coordinator reports to the Executive Director (ED) and coordinates mediation services, manages volunteers, and supports ongoing community services.
Work Schedule: 20-25 hours per week as needed to complete job tasks.
Knowledge and Experience
- Associates Degree or Higher
- Commitment to cooperative conflict resolution and understanding of facilitative mediation. Mediation experience and knowledge of the field, including knowledge of mediation’s overlap with legal and court systems, educational institutions and the wider community.
- Experience coordinating volunteers.
- Experience as a mediator (or available to complete next mediation training).
Necessary Skills and Abilities
- Ability to work with diverse communities.
- Organizational skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage a variety of tasks at the same time.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to work effectively in a team setting.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint,
Major Responsibilities and Duties
Coordinate PDRC Mediation Services
- Provide intake services for all mediations.
- Coordinate volunteer mediators and observers and schedule mediations.
- Correspond with clients and volunteers.
- Keep accurate records of client contacts and create monthly and annual reports.
Volunteer Management
- Provide coaching and support to volunteer mediators.
- Find ways to honor the work of volunteers.
Supports Community Services
- Assist with day to day operations of the PDRC.
- Support annual fundraising efforts.
- Provide logistical support to Youth Mediation programs as needed.
- Represent PDRC in the community.
- Support PDRC Mission and goals.
Other
- Assist ED as needed.
- Provide logistical support trainings.
- When necessary serve as acting Executive Director.
